Catholic Cheese / Ice Out

 

Johanna brought some German Chocolate, a book in German about her town Neuenburg am Rhein, and a calendar featuring photos of the entire Grunau family.  Christoph looks like a little boy in every photo he is featured in!

 

We fed the cats an early dinner before heading out to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for their Lenten Cheese Enchilada dinner.  Nigel has not hid from Johanna at all but merely approaches her with feline caution.  Ravel is as bold as ever.

 

Here I am patiently waiting for Sue to get ready to leave. . .

 

Now I’m getting impatient . . . checking my fake watch. . .

 

Sue had some very sweet white wine at the dinner mostly for the experience of drinking wine at a church event.

 

Johanna liked the cheese and onion with mole sauce enchiladas but like Sue, she did not enjoy the beans—like host mother, like host daughter.

 

Here is our remaining iceberg on the north side of the garage.  Today, April 12th, it will be gone.  All that remains of ice is the stuff in the lakes and in the parking lots of big box retailers.
