We took advantage of the near freezing temperatures yesterday to put up some lights. There is always some controversy about whether the “shaft of light” is a good idea or not. We doubled the amount of lights on the posts and they turned out much better than ever.
The alley trees will get an extra layer tomorrow.
This is a great stained-glass created by our friend John Metcalfe. We’re lighting it for Advent this year but it stays up year-round.
Speaking of Advent, this is usually our Advent wreath but we’re missing a candle for its just a decoration this year.
Doug had the first of his Community Band Holiday Concerts this afternoon. They played Doug’s arrangement for Band and vocal quartet of “Let There Be Peace on Earth” which went very well.
We’re 100% sure the cats slept the entire time we were gone because 6 of the 6 cat toys Doug sent up for “killing” were still in their places when we got home.
The tree is staying decorated lately. I think the change of location has worked wonders.

You’ll notice that many of our ornaments involve cats.
“Reindeer ears? You’ve GOT to be kidding…”
Apparently no cat is interested in being decked with ears or boughs of holly.
