When we were in Tanzania, I perpetuated a joke about spotting the elusive stripe-less zebra and/or the even more elusive stripped donkey. In the children's cantata that I'm slowly writing (based on 1 Samuel 7-11), I'm trying to work in the joke of the stripe-less zebras. Saul and his servant, at one point are out looking for his father's missing donkeys. I just have to discover a punch line. A funny one. Wish me luck.
This is supposedly a real stripe-less donkey in Kenya but it looks like it may grow into its stripes.
This is probably a real donkey. My cantata's working title is "The First King of Israel". I plan to work in contemporary cultural references along with Spanish and Swahili. Go big or go home, right?
