This is the very striking lilac crested roller. We saw hundreds of these guys and we stopped for many in an attempt to catch one in flight when you can really see its plumage in all its technicolour splendor. The bird guys (Brandt, John, and Mark) with the zoom lenses got some good photos.
The Baobob trees in Tarangire Park grow for hundreds of years and grow to an enormous size as you can see by this one dwarfing a pair of elephants.
In addition to movies and TV available in the seat back entertainment center, I also lost innumerable games of chess against the computer. Sue slept through Argo several times.
This was how I kicked off the trip with some sushi in the food court of the airport. One should never eat raw fish on an airplane but in the airport is probably OK, right?

We love this picture of Mary doing her best to act like a Tanzanian woman. Look how happy she looks! John and Mark were probably egging her on. Spending all waking hours and eating three meals a day with them, we really got to know our group of eleven.

I told Mary it was really great of her sister to invite her along with us. I've got at least one sister who would have loved going on this trip.
It sounds like our group of eleven will get together on St. Patrick's Day for a reunion. In the meantime, we're all supposed to upload "our best photos" to Shutterfly for sharing.
