Yesterday afternoon Sue and I went to Pippin the musical at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis. This show is from the early 1970s but was revived on Broadway in 2013 and now its on its 8 month long national tour. Note the Jazz hands! (Pippin, the main character is not seen in this photo!)
In addition to the many displays of Jazz Hands, the show features lots of circus-style acrobatics.
This photo shows a rehearsal for some of the trapeze work. The singers did some mild acrobatics and hanging around from ropes and things while singing their lines!
Guess how old this singer is? She was in the original production in 1972. Now she plays Pippin's grandmother touring the country doing 8 shows per week for 8 months. She's Lucie Arnaz, the daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. She twirled around on a trapeze while singing about love and sex. She's 63 years old! Sue said she could see her muscles form the balcony where we were sitting.
Here's the "Lead Player" - the main female role. She acts as the narrator of the show but does a lot of singing and dancing.

This guy played the part of Pippin in the 1972 production. Here he is King Charlemagne.
It was a good show and we had a fun time. I even sang along on one of the tunes.
