We and approximately 200,000 (based on past attendance data and the fact we couldn’t move at times) 236,197 (aka – the busiest day ever at the fair) other Minnesotans went to the Minnesota State Fair.
People or ants? Its hard to tell, isn’t it?!
We did the rounds. Although the President and First Lady weren’t there, their life-size cutouts were.
Other life-size cutouts included Doug’s favorite weather person, Laura.
Nothing says fair fun like a head on a stick!
Of course we tried plenty of local delicacies. Sweet Martha’s Cookies were a hit with Fahsai. The deep fried cheese curds were not. Other tasty treats included onion rings, a gigantic German pretzel and beer (for the adults) and Sprite (for the teenager).
We spent a fair amount of time checking out the animal barns.
The baby pigs were very cute!
I impressed Doug and Fahsai with my (limited) knowledge of cows. However, these two city-born people did not fall for the statement that chocolate milk comes from brown cows.
People…so many people…
There were plenty of opportunities to explain some local culture such as “butter sculpture”.
The cats are enjoying their dual cat perch set up.
