Full Week 2

It sounds like the tile guys will be starting tomorrow and will be here for 3-4 days so there should be some good activity soon. We will have tile in the bathtub area as well as tile trim throughout the bathroom. 

Over the weekend, I painted. It was pretty easy painting as there was no floor trim, cabinet, toilet or mirror to go around. The color is Sherwin-Williams Dorian Gray. I'm 95% sure this is the same color as our kitchen. I know there will be plenty of touch-ups to do after the project is more complete but it was nice to get an easy first coat on. 

We were very happy that the Project Manager, Buzz, had time to put the from our bedroom to the bathroom back on. The cats having the run of the rooms was not good around 4am. 

Inspector General At Work

Inspector General at work. It looks like Ravel would like us to change the design and not put a glass wall where he is standing.

Door Day

The (professional) painters were here today to enamel our existing doors and woodwork.  

They were here right on time at 7:30 and started in quickly. 

The trick was deciding where the white should stop and where to continue with the existing golden oak. 

Good thing I cleaned out that linen closet. 

The next painters will be us but there is still some mudding and sanding before we can do that. Hopefully someone will do that tomorrow or Friday. 

The tile will be installed starting on Friday and all the doors will be reinstalled then too. 

Nothing to see here

There's not much to see. The towel bars and anchors are out and have been mudded over. I suspect we'll see Reuben a few more times to work on those.

According to the schedule, tile installation is supposed to start tomorrow but last I heard from Darin (the project manager until Buzz gets back) is the tile hadn't come in. There is talk of painting the doors and door frames on Wednesday.

It's a little slow going for the moment and not particularly photogenic so I'll just stick with a picture of Nigel enjoying the rug in the wrong place.

Start of Installation

We were greeted by this pile of bathroom fixtures when we got home from vacation. They did a lot of work while we were gone!

 The cast iron bathtub has been installed. I'm curious how they got it upstairs!

They framed in the new shower wall. Unfortunately they found unmovable pipe so the wall won't be completely glass. 

The ceiling was smoothed out and new drywall was installed. Our new best friend is Rueben who is the drywaller. Apparently he will be coming back several times in the next few days to work on the space. 

Demo Day

 We were on vacation but got some great pictures of the demolition of our old bathroom. Goodbye old bathtub! It looked dirty from the first day we had it so it will be nice to have a new, clean tub.
