We’re deep into planning our trip to Japan which is less than 3 months away now. We’ve made contact with lots of our friends and we are looking forward to seeing everyone.
New college graduate Makiko has started her new job and will be working in Yamaguchi Prefecture which is much closer to Kyushu than Tokyo. We’re hoping she can either meet us in Kyushu or maybe we’ll be able to visit her in her new city. Or both!
We’re starting to make some firm travel plans and have even made hotel reservations in Kyoto. We’re looking forward to visiting this “must see” place in Japan that we never got to when we lived there.
The biggest news is that Dad Berg will be joining us for part of our trip. We booked his airline ticket earlier this week and his hotel tonight so now he’s almost set to go. It will be a great adventure!
Things have really changed since we lived there. We often wonder how we lived and traveled before the internet. For instance, this afternoon we spent several hours looking up exact train schedules for our planned itinerary, read the Japan Times newspaper on-line and booked a hotel. How did we do this in 1997??? We don’t remember!
