Naughty Cat Diaries: Summer Edition and flower update

008

We are having some exceptionally beautiful weather – 75 to 80 and sunny, no humidity…perfect!!

This afternoon, I decided to take the ‘trustworthy’ orange cat outside for a supervised walk.  I also put the less trustworthy black cat on a leash.  The black cat was fine but the same can’t be said for the orange cat.

About 5 minutes into the time outside, the orange cat shot up the tree and walked away out on the longest branch (see arrow on photo above for approximate location).  He eventually came back to the tree end of the branch and I was able to distract him with a leash and capture him.  He was looking up the tree and I was wondering if I would end up in the local newspaper police report “crazy cat lady calls fire department to retrieve cat…she should have known better…”

He put himself in time out when he got back inside and spent the rest of the afternoon sulking/sleeping on the back of the chair.

The warm weather combined with just enough rain (unfortunately it seems to come in on the weekend) has been good for the flowers.  004

The flower pot on the porch is looking nice.

The Ganzia are doing OK where the Dahlias should be.

The flowers along the garage are starting to bloom.

The tomato plant and other vegetables are coming along nicely. The red nicotania don’t seem to be doing as well in full sun.

The best growth is happening in the “wildflower”mix/sunflower area.  It’s hard to say what is a weed and what is a flower.  Works out great!
