Sue woke to a phone call this morning informing her that because of the storm there was to be a
SNOW DAY*
*SNOW DAY in this case is defined as "no school but teachers are supposed to report when the roads are passable."
So after helping me shovel, Sue dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt and headed off to school with the small shovel in the hatch. She was pretty sure the parking lot will not be plowed by the time she gets there.
I captured Sue's departure on film. Note the stunning realism of these action shots. Sue was going to wait until the alley was plowed but let's be real here. They don't ever quickly plow the alley. Maybe by evening the city plow will have pushed some snow around mostly blocking our garage but doing little to actually open up the exit to Thompson or Congress Streets.
After sue left, I talked to the lady three doors to the south of us. She was shoveling her driveway for the express purpose of going to work on her last day in her current job. She said cake was going to be served at the party and she was not going to miss cake.
We got about 6 inches but it is still snowing. I guess I'll be shoveling again later. I have a Neighbors Inc. rider to take to St. Paul at noon.
The leopard and zebra paintings have found a home in the dining room.
Tailwheel remains at home in whomever's lap needs a cat to roost in.
Spicy peanut sauce chicken, cous cous and asparagus plated in a delightful presentation. Top marks to the chef. We're still waiting for the 50th Anniversary photo disc to arrive from Oak Creek. . . you can expect some Williams family photos to be posted soon.
"Look how well fed I am."
